Its great for kids or anyone who wants a better understanding

Ok, I'll come out and say it... I purchased this for myself. I have a hard time understanding and getting through different parts of the old testament. (Deuteronomy and beyond)
I purchased this bible because they make it easier to understand.
It does leave out alot of details and parts like the psalms and other important parts, but i expected that. Its meant for a starting point for kids.. still, it does summarize the books really well.

Ive already read it in its entirety and I enjoyed it alot! Hehe I love the pictures...

I would recommend this for anyone who has children because it sticks to the bible... unlike this other children's bible that I purchased and returned (they started calling the Lord Jehovah from the beginning and this isnt how it was originally)

We ordered a number of different children's Bibles as part of an evaluation for a friend's church project. This was by far our favorite. Clear stories, and beautiful illustrations. Our granddaughter got it for her 5th birthday.

Essential reading for all Bond fans

Danger Society: The Young Bond Dossier is the essential guide to Charlie Higson's world of young James Bond. It's packed with information on the villains, girls, weapons, cars, locations, everything you love about James Bond both young and old. Best of all the book contains an all-new Young Bond short story, A Hard Man To KIll, set between the books Hurricane Gold and By Royal Command. It is a lengthy and hugely exciting story that is absolutely up to the high standers we've come to expect from this series. It also features what may be the most fiendish villain of the entire series, and we get the return of a favorite Young Bond Girl (but I won't spoil it by telling you who). The book is packed with Kev Walker's illustrations, including all-new illustrations for the short story.

Young Bond fans will certainly enjoy this book, but I would also recommend it to all James Bond fans, even those who for whatever reason have resisted the Young Bond series. In these pages you will see just how inventive the world Charlie has created for Young Bond is, and a read of the short story will give you an excellent taste of what the Young Bond phenomena is all about.

Excellent short story makes it very worthwhile

I've been saving By Royal Command and Danger Society for over a year now. As a huge literary Bond fan, I didn't want to finish the last two official Bond books I had left and so they have been sitting on my shelf taunting me. With the soon to be released new Bond book Solo by William Boyd I finally took By Royal Command and Danger Society off my shelf. The product itself (or my version at least) is a paperback with a nice, striking shiny silver cover. So it's nice to look at.

Danger Society: The Young Bond Dossier is an overview of the whole Young Bond series, giving us information and trivia on a lot of subjects pertaining to the Young Bond series: characters, locations, weapons, cars, etc. The information is given to us with nicely drawn pictures depicting the characters/items and events in young Bond's life. I have to admit I would have liked more information on some subjects, like the villains and girls. It felt like the book was neutered to not give away every plot point, which is pretty silly considering everyone who will read this will have hopefully read the rest of the Young Bond books first.

To me the main star of this book is the short story, A Hard Man to Kill, by Charlie Higson himself. The story takes place between Hurricane Gold and By Royal Command, and is excellent. I've always liked the Bond short stories, and Higson's is one of the best. James and his aunt Charmain are bound back for England on a luxury liner when James uncovers a plot he must foil. I don't want to spoil the details but there are two cameos in the story, one from Fleming and one from Higson. The story, location and atmosphere for this short story are fantastic.

So to sum it up, Danger Society is a must read for Young Bond fan's or just Bond fans who can appreciate a Bond story not written by Fleming. I would recommend reading this after finishing up the rest of the Young Bond books though.

Take Action with The Sales Playbook

I've had the pleasure of attending Jack's Sales Manager Summit and this book takes his teachings to the next level. I pre-ordered one copy, devoured it, then ordered two more copies for my colleagues. This is not your typical guide-to-sales book. It includes tools to help you TAKE ACTION quickly. The templates provided for goal achieving plans, best questions guide and how to create a sales process scorecard are just a few of the tools provided that any company/any team would find beneficial. Awesome Sales Resource to Improve Your Selling, Sales Process, and Implement For Your Team

I was able to get my hands on an early copy of this book after our co-founder went to a conference jack spoke at in AZ.

This book is absolute gold so far. Speaking from a startup where we are putting these processes in place this has been a huge resource. It covers everything from start to finish of your sales process and how to implement/practice with the team. I am an Account Exec looking to move into a Sales Manager Role and this is a perfect balance between fine tuning your selling skills, defining your sales process, and managing a sales team.

Awesome side note - I was reading this book on a Sunday and was having trouble accessing the additional content since I had an early copy. I called the support number and Dan personally answered. He took time to answer some questions specific to my sales process and personally emailed his tech guy to get me what I needed!!!

Same ole Same ole

Interesting that the book is the same as all other marketing books. Same ole, same ole. As I read, it seemed like I was reading a hodge podge of all the ideas that have been in print for years. Putting them all in one book, claiming "different", flys in the face of the subject matter. Not for me.

Clear, succinct, detailed background for Histology

I purchased the Netter's flash cards 2 months ago and wish I had instead purchased the Lange Basic Histology ones the first time around! Now I have 2 stacks of histo flash cards, only one that I can actually use. Although the Netter's histology flash cards are elegantly designed the content on the back of the flash cards is poor and the information is arranged in a manner that is inaccessible, scattered, and incomplete. Netter's gave only a couple of important basics on the back of each flash card and fill the rest in with minute, irrelevant details without providing an adequate foundation. I spent a lot of money on them, but have not been able to use them at all to study. I had tried, but it never worked out.

Two weeks ago I learned about these Lange Basic Histology flash cards and found them to be almost exactly what I was looking for. The cards are concise and very high yield. Each card has diagrams and/or pictures of micrographs of light microscopy AND electron microscopy which I found very helpful. I found Lange to have more photos (so they capture the real thing) than Netter's, which has tons of illustrations. Moreover, the back of each slide gives an overview of all the basic, important concepts you need to know for that particular topic AND presents clinically relevant information. For me, these slides were designed exactly the way I wanted to design my own study sheets and flashcards: a representative micrograph of light and EM microscopy and/or diagrams on one slide, and all the foundational information (not just 2 concepts + trivial matters) PLUS clinical relevance on the other.

Critiques: a.) These cards have great content, but could be more chic. I personally would have really liked that, but I'm an artist so more critical of that than other people. Netter's is certainly flashier. b.) I wish there were more clinical information. They don't have less than Netter's does on each card, I just wish they had more.

Bottom Line: Lange flash cards summarize the fundamentals of histology I am needing to know for medical school and do so in a clear, compact version. The EM and light microscopy pictures on each are also great, and some have illustrations, too, which are also great. I am finding these flash cards very helpful.

Reviewer "CB" of the Junqueira Basic Histology Flash Cards, of which I am the author, indicates they contain only "maybe 20 pics out of the 500 cards." Actually there are 200 cards, each with one or more images of a different human tissue or cell (with key features indicated) and a concise written description of the relevant histological information. Doody's Book Reviews, an independent, professional reviewing organization that rates educational products for medical and pre-medical students, said of the Junqueira Basic Histology Flash Cards "This is one of the best flashcard products currently available for medical education" and gave the work a weighted score of 100 out of 100.

Lange Basic Histology Cards - Great on Kindle Fire

I am an Anatomy and Physiology student that struggles with histology. Physical flash cards work well. But, I really like he way these cards work on the Kindle Fire. While you are learning the slides, you can hold the page between the cell and the key. Once you learn them, you can challenge yourself. So far I have just tried this on the Kindle Fire Gen 2 the 7" version. It will probably work even better with my Asus Transformer.

Overall, this is a great way to have your flashcards with you all the time. I can just leave the Kindle on my desk and look over at it between tasks to get ready for my lab final. I have a few weeks to study. I'll try to remember to post an update after the exam.

great book, should be reprinted

this book is the most useful for anatomy for sculpture that i've found, and i've checked out most of them. however when i got it, it cost about 20 bucks, and 100 dollars plus that the 2nd hand copies are going for here is appalling. Why don't the publishers reprint this book???
His other books are available, yet they are nowhere near as useful as this one. This book - at 20 or so bucks - would be invaluable for any artist wanting to make work related to human body. Reprint!!!
